MailBluster SMTP is Released: One Bill, One Account, No Setup

MailBluster Managed SMTP

Creating a campaign should not begin with another account, unfamiliar SMTP settings, production-access requests, and a second bill. It should begin with the email you want to send to your subscribers, so you can focus on sending the email campaigns instead of setting up and maintaining the technical infrastructure.

That is why we are introducing MailBluster SMTP. You can now send campaigns entirely through MailBluster. No third-party sending account required. We manage the infrastructure that delivers your emails while you work from the familiar MailBluster dashboard.

Already using Amazon SES, Mailgun, Postmark, or SMTP2GO? Nothing changes. Bringing your own SMTP service remains available, and you can keep your current setup.

How do we manage MailBluster SMTP?

MailBluster customers are connected to a separate SMTP provider. With MailBluster SMTP, we manage that sending layer for you. It is like renting a fully equipped kitchen instead of buying, installing, and maintaining every appliance. You create the menu; the kitchen is ready.

Behind the scenes, we handle:

  • Sending infrastructure setup and configuration
  • Deliverability monitoring and reputation protection
  • Sending capacity that can grow with your list

The result is managed email sending with one account, dashboard, and bill. You still control your domain, campaigns, audience, and content.

💡TIP
SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. Put simply, it is the service that moves your campaigns from an email marketing platform to your subscribers’ inboxes.

Processes to send email with MailBluster SMTP

There are four steps from application to sending –

1Tell us about your business

Complete a short dashboard form about your domain, signup process, list source, email types, and sending frequency. It should take only a few minutes.

2We review your request

Our team checks your domain and sending practices for a healthy, compliant setup. Reviews usually take 3–5 business days, and we email you when there is an update.

Why is there a review?

Healthy practices protect everyone using shared infrastructure. The review helps preserve sender reputation and supports inbox delivery.

3Verify your domain

Once approved, you will receive a short list of DNS records to add to your domain settings. These records help mailbox providers confirm that MailBluster is authorized to send for your domain.

4Choose a plan and send

Pick the monthly volume that matches your usual campaign schedule. Once the plan is active, you can create and send campaigns through MailBluster SMTP.

MailBluster SMTP pricing

Choose how many emails you expect to send each month and pay a fixed price for that allowance. There are 14 monthly email plans, from 10,000 to 1 million emails.

Here is a sample of the range:

Save 10% with yearly billing

Pay for a year in advance and get 10% off the plan price, applied automatically at checkout.

For example, the 50,000-email plan is $59 when paid monthly. With yearly billing, its effective monthly rate is $53.10.

The discount applies only to the plan price. Extra emails use the same rate with monthly or yearly billing.

Built-in protection for your sender reputation

Sending more email is only useful when your sending practices stay healthy. MailBluster SMTP monitors bounces and spam complaints around the clock.

If the system detects a serious problem, sending pauses automatically and we email you. Sending resumes when the account is healthy again.

You still need a permission-based, well-maintained list and relevant content; infrastructure cannot compensate for poor practices. Learn more in our guide to email sender reputation.

What this means for existing customers?

Nothing changes unless you choose MailBluster SMTP. Your current SMTP connection, MailBluster plan, and pricing stay as they are.

You can apply for an individual brand at any time. Each brand uses one sending setup, and you must send from a domain you own, not a free address such as gmail.com.

If you later want to return to your own provider, contact support to cancel MailBluster SMTP and switch the brand back. Before changing a yearly plan, check the applicable billing terms with our team.

Start sending with MailBluster SMTP

MailBluster SMTP brings building and sending campaigns into one place: no separate SMTP account, one bill, plans from $17 a month, and reputation monitoring. Pay yearly, and the plan price is 10% lower.

You can also view every plan, visit the Help section for your query, or contact MailBluster support. Already happy with your SMTP provider? Keep using it; both sending options are here to stay.

Frequently asked questions

Do I still need an Amazon SES, Mailgun, Postmark, or SMTP2GO account?

No. MailBluster SMTP provides the sending infrastructure, so you do not need a separate third-party sending account. Bring Your Own SMTP remains available if you prefer it.

How long does approval take?

Reviews usually take 3–5 business days. We will email you when the status of your request changes.

What if my request is not approved?

A request may be declined if the domain, signup process, list source, or sending plan does not meet our requirements. We will explain the next step where possible, and you can still connect your own supported SMTP provider.

Do I need a technical person to verify my domain?

Usually not. We provide the exact DNS records to add, and most domain providers can help you place them. MailBluster support is available if the records do not verify as expected.

What happens if I send more than my plan allows?

The campaign keeps sending. Extra emails are billed at your plan’s rate per 1,000 emails.

Can I pay yearly?

Yes. Paying yearly reduces the plan price by 10%. Extra emails are billed at the normal extra-email rate.

Can I change plans later?

Yes. You can move up or down as your sending needs change. Check the billing terms before changing a prepaid yearly plan.

Can I switch between MailBluster SMTP and my own SMTP?

Yes, you can choose the sending method for each brand. Only one sending setup is active for a brand at a time

Can I send from a free address such as gmail.com?

No. You need a domain you own so it can be authenticated and used to build your sender reputation.

Is my list shared with anyone?

MailBluster processes contact data to provide the service and gives sending providers temporary access when required to deliver email. MailBluster does not sell marketing lists or share them beyond the circumstances.
