MailBluster uses mbmai1.com to generate the web version, subscribe, and unsubscribe URLs. As this domain is used by default for most MailBluster customers, its reputation has significantly diminished, affecting all email campaigns. As everyone knows email marketing is a tool that many scammers, and spammers use a lot and MailBluster is also used for that. MailBluster tries to prevent them, but it’s not possible to block them 100%. The result is a low reputation of the unsubscribe domain and leading to issues like the default “Unsubscribed link” page not opening.
To resolve this issue, you need to change the default auto-generated URL from MailBluster. To change the default auto-generated URL, navigate to the Settings > Custom URL page and set the Action URL. Additionally, ensure you create a simple CNAME record in your domain’s DNS configuration. Once the Action URL is set, MailBluster will use it instead of the default one. For instance, your Action URL could be: http://email.example.com where http://example.com is your domain.
If you’re not using Cloudflare for DNS, you must use the HTTP protocol for your Action URL. The Action URL in MailBluster will update both the web version and the Unsubscribe URL in your email campaign, resolving the issue.
After setting the Action URL in MailBluster, ensure it’s functional before sending any email campaigns. You can test this by accessing the Action URL from your web browser.
