The MailBluster daily email sending capacity depends on the SMTP provider you use, such as Amazon SES, Postmark, Mailgun, or SMTP2GO. MailBluster does not set a sending limit. Your provider account determines the maximum number of emails you can send each day.
For example, after moving out of Amazon SES Sandbox, AWS gives a daily limit of 50,000 emails. This limit can increase based on your account’s sending reputation. Other providers, like Postmark, Mailgun, and SMTP2GO, have their own limits depending on account type and history.
Follow email best practices and maintain a strong sending reputation to maximize your daily email capacity with MailBluster.
If MailBluster is still giving a message to move out of sandbox, the issue is usually linked to your Amazon SES account. To fix this, you can simply refresh the Amazon SES usage box as shown below:
But if it wasn’t updated, then most of the time, the reason is that Amazon SES moved you out of the sandbox in a different region (not the one that you have selected). The confirmation email should contain the Region; please choose the same region on MailBluster.
If the issue still persists, then generate the AWS Credentials again correctly by following this video tutorial:
You won’t be able to send any test email or bulk email from MailBluster while your AWS Account is in Sandbox mode. Also, while your AWS Account is in Sandbox mode, those 200 emails you see are only for the virtual mailbox simulator, not for sending actual emails or Test mails to your leads (recipients) from MailBluster. So in conclusion, you won’t be able to send any emails whether it’s a test mail or bulk email from MailBluster until and unless you move your AWS account out of Amazon SES Sandbox.
Yes, you can send test email after exceeding free limit under the Starter plan from MailBluster. MailBluster lets you send test emails to a maximum of 5 recipients. You can send test emails up to 5 persons maximum but Unsubscribe link will not work.
After clicking Send test email, you can select a maximum of 5 recipients.
If you didn’t receive the verification email from MailBluster, first check your email provider’s Promotions, Spam, or Junk folder. If you find the email, open it and click the activation link to instantly activate your MailBluster account.
If you still haven’t received the verification email from MailBluster, contact the MailBluster Support Team for help. They will manually verify your account and activate it directly.
MailBluster doesn’t have any domain tracking mechanism. Because of this, the MailBluster Report does not separately list the number of emails sent, delivered, opened, clicked, marked as spam, etc. for Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo or AOL.
MailBluster secured and reputable IP addresses are not directly provided by the platform itself. Instead, MailBluster uses on Amazon SES to send all marketing emails. Because of this setup, the IP reputation and security are fully managed by AWS, which ensures reliability.
If you require a dedicated IP or SMTP server for your campaigns, you need to configure it in your own AWS account. MailBluster does not require any extra setup from its side. Once you purchase a dedicated IP from AWS, MailBluster can use it. Otherwise, your campaigns will use the shared IPs that AWS provides.
In short, MailBluster secured and reputable IP addresses are delivered through Amazon SES infrastructure, giving you the confidence of trusted email delivery.
Setting up SMTP settings in MailBluster allows you to send emails reliably using supported SMTP providers. MailBluster exclusively uses Amazon SES, Postmark and Mailgun as its SMTP servers for sending emails. You need to set it up individually using the credentials provided by AWS, Postmark and Mailgun.
You need to go to your Brand > Settings > SMTP Providers first. Then insert the credentials for each of the SMTP providers.
For AWS, you must have a verified, approved, and out-of-sandbox AWS account. AWS will provide you Access key, Secret access key and the SES region which you have selected during AWS production access request.
For Postmark, you must have a verified domain and Sender Signature. Postmark will provide you the Account API token from Postmark Account > API Tokens and Server API token from Servers > Your Server name > Default Broadcast Stream which you need to paste in MailBluster Brand > Settings > SMTP Providers> Postmark as shown below.
For Mailgun, you must have a verified domain setup under Send > Domains in Mailgun along with Mailgun API Key. Paste the API Key and Domain name in your MailBluster Brand > Settings > SMTP Providers under Mailgun.
Once these steps are completed and your AWS account / Postmark / Mailgun is fully connected, you’ll be able to send bulk emails through MailBluster from any of these SMTP providers.
No, MailBluster cannot be self-hosted. MailBluster is a cloud-based platform, so you must sign up using your email address or Google ID and provide the required details. Since it operates fully in the cloud, you don’t need to install or manage servers yourself.
Although Autoresponder is one of our clients’ most frequently requested features, it has yet to be available in MailBluster. It is, however, a high-priority item MailBluster our to-do list.
Sending Transactional Emails using MailBluster is not currently possible. MailBluster only supports sending marketing emails and newsletters. If you want to send transactional emails, then you have to send directly from Amazon SES. To know how to send Transactional Email via Amazon SES, please visit: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/pinpoint/latest/developerguide/send-messages-email.html .

Your data is safe with MailBluster, and we follow the rules of GDPR. To maintain GDPR compliance in MailBluster, all data is securely stored in Ireland on AWS servers. We’re serious about keeping everything confidential, following strict rules in our Data Privacy Regulations.

MailBluster supports the UTF8MB3 character set, which is a subset of UTF8MB4 (UTF-8). UTF8MB3 stands for “UTF-8 with a maximum of 3-byte characters.” It covers a broad range of characters used in different scripts. While UTF8MB4 supports up to 4-byte characters, UTF8MB3 provides a slightly smaller but still powerful range. By using UTF8MB3, MailBluster ensures smooth compatibility with diverse characters and symbols. This support helps users create compelling content and communicate effectively with a global audience.
MailBluster no longer supports email attachments. We suggest uploading the file to a cloud storage service like Google Drive or Dropbox and then sharing the link in the body of the email campaign. By replacing attachments with cloud links, you maintain professional campaigns and ensure smooth delivery to your audience.
MailBluster sets the maximum email content size at 120 KB. If your email exceeds this limit, you will see an error message.
To ensure smooth delivery and avoid issues, it’s recommended to keep email content between 15 KB and 100 KB.
For example, Gmail clips emails that exceed 102 KB, hiding extra content behind a “view entire message” link.
By following these guidelines, you ensure your entire email is visible to recipients, improving readability and engagement. Keeping content within the recommended size also helps maintain high deliverability rates across different email providers.

MailBluster does not have a customized white-labeled solution yet. However, our team has plans for releasing a White-label solution soon. It’s in MailBluster To-Do List.
Sending cold emails through MailBluster is against the terms of use of MailBluster. You cannot send unsolicited emails to a receiver without prior contact. That is, you are not allowed to send emails to those who are not your subscribers. This is according to the guidelines of your SMTP provider (AWS, Postmark, Mailgun, SMTP2GO). You must have prior contact first, and your leads have to be your subscribers. If you send cold emails, then your SMTP provider account will be paused/suspanded. It might also result in blocking your MailBluster and SMTP provider account forever.
MailBluster prioritizes information security and is dedicated to preserving the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of its systems and information. The company has established a Vulnerability Disclosure Policy to guide security researchers in conducting vulnerability discovery activities. The policy outlines the systems and types of research covered, provides instructions for submitting vulnerability reports, and specifies a waiting period before publicly disclosing any discovered vulnerabilities.
While it’s not a Bug Bounty program, researchers can have their names listed on the Security Disclosure Acknowledgements page if the reported vulnerability is recognized.

When importing leads that don’t have first names, the first_name field in MailBluster will remain empty. This can affect your email personalization and open rates.
To solve this, use the following merge tag in your email template:
Hey {{first_name or “organic users”}}
If the first name is Aditya, it will display: Hey Aditya
If first name is not available, it will display: Hey organic users
Using this fallback ensures your emails remain engaging and personalized even for users without first names, helping maintain higher open and click rates for your MailBluster campaigns.
