MailBluster is an email marketing platform that uses Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) for sending high-quality marketing emails and newsletters. By using your own AWS account, MailBluster aims to provide cost-effective email marketing without compromising deliverability.
Email marketing is a digital strategy that involves sending emails to a group of people, typically potential or existing customers, to promote products, services, or content. It’s used to build relationships with customers, increase brand awareness, and drive sales by delivering targeted messages directly to their inboxes. This can include newsletters, promotional offers, product announcements, or personalized content based on user behavior and preferences. Email marketing is highly effective because it allows businesses to reach their audience directly, track engagement, and tailor messages to specific segments of their customer base.

Now you will need a verified, approved and out of sandbox AWS Account to connect with MailBluster. As you already know MailBluster uses Amazon SES to send all the marketing emails. Amazon SES allows you to leverage the cost-effectiveness of bulk email services, making it an ideal complement to MailBluster, the most affordable email marketing software. When seamlessly integrated with MailBluster, Amazon SES ensures optimal deliverability and enhances sender reputation, making it an essential step for businesses aiming to maximize the impact of their email marketing campaigns. MailBluster does not support Custom SMTP servers or services nor provide any 3rd party SMTP servers or services. That’s why a user must have an AWS account to use MailBluster.
For detailed guidance on setting up an AWS account and connecting it with MailBluster, check out the video tutorial provided here
The number of emails you can send each day depends on your Amazon Web Services (AWS) account, specifically through Amazon SES (Simple Email Service), which sets the daily limit, not MailBluster. Initially, after moving out of the Amazon SES Sandbox, AWS provides a daily sending limit of 50,000 emails per day (within 24 hours). This limit may vary, potentially reaching 60,000 or even 100,000 emails per day, depending on your account’s previous sending reputation.
MailBluster uses your AWS account to send newsletters and marketing campaigns since it doesn’t provide an SMTP server or services. If you follow best practices and maintain a good sending reputation, Amazon SES may increase your daily sending limit upon request.
You can refresh the Amazon SES usage box as shown below:
But if it wasn’t updated, then most of the time, the reason is that Amazon SES moved you out of the sandbox in a different region (not the one that you have selected). The confirmation email should contain the Region; please choose the same region on MailBluster.
If the issue still persists, then generate the AWS Credentials again correctly by following this video tutorial:
You won’t be able to send any test email or bulk email from MailBluster while your AWS Account is in Sandbox mode. Also, while your AWS Account is in Sandbox mode, those 200 emails you see are only for the virtual mailbox simulator, not for sending actual emails or Test mails to your leads (recipients) from MailBluster. So in conclusion, you won’t be able to send any emails whether it’s a test mail or bulk email from MailBluster until and unless you move your AWS account out of Amazon SES Sandbox.
If you haven’t received the MailBluster verification/confirmation/activation link through email, please check your ESP (Email Service Provider)’s promotional tab, spam or junk email folder. If you find it, open the email and Activate your MailBluster account. This will let your MailBluster account activate in an instant. If you still face issues getting an activation email link from MailBluster, please get in touch with MailBluster Support for further assistance. They will verify your account and open it directly.
MailBluster doesn’t have any domain tracking mechanism. Because of this, the MailBluster Report does not separately list the number of emails sent, delivered, opened, clicked, marked as spam, etc. for Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo or AOL.
MailBluster doesn’t provide a report detailing the number of clicks a specific link received. You can only view the total number of clicked links, not the individual count of clicks for each link.
MailBluster does not provide any IP addresses. MailBluster and Amazon SES are separate entities. MailBluster utilizes Amazon SES to send all marketing emails. If you require a dedicated IP or SMTP server, you must utilize your own AWS account. There is no configuration necessary from the MailBluster side. Should you wish to purchase a dedicated IP, please contact AWS directly. MailBluster can then utilize this dedicated IP, otherwise, it will utilize a shared IP provided by AWS.
MailBluster sends all the marketing emails through Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) with the help of the verified, approved, and out-of-sandbox AWS Account of a user connected with MailBluster. MailBluster does not support Custom SMTP servers or services nor provide any 3rd party SMTP servers or services. However, supporting Custom SMTP servers and other providers are in MailBluster to-do list.
It’s not possible to self-host MailBluster. MailBluster is cloud-based, so you need to sign up with your email address or Google ID then enter the necessary details to use MailBluster
Although Autoresponder is one of our clients’ most frequently requested features, it has yet to be available in MailBluster. It is, however, a high-priority item MailBluster our to-do list.
MailBluster does not support transactional emails at the moment. MailBluster can only be used for sending marketing emails and newsletters. The GDPR, or General Data Protection Regulation, is a law about protecting data. It started in the European Union on May 25, 2018. This law tells us how we can use, handle, and keep personal information (like details about someone who can be identified and is alive). It’s not just for EU groups but also for those offering stuff or services to the EU or keeping an eye on EU citizens.
Your data is safe with MailBluster, and we follow the rules of GDPR. We store your data in Ireland, part of the European Economic Area, using secure servers from Amazon Web Services (AWS). We’re serious about keeping everything confidential, following strict rules in our Data Privacy Regulations.

MailBluster isn’t built on any platform. Instead, our engineers carefully craft it using the best technical tools available. It’s like crafting something special by hand rather than just picking something off the shelf. This means MailBluster isn’t like other platforms because it’s uniquely designed to fit exactly what our users need. It’s made with care and skill, giving it an edge in the world of email marketing.
MailBluster supports the UTF8MB3 character set, a subset of UTF8MB4 (or UTF-8). UTF8MB3, standing for ‘UTF-8 with a maximum of 3-byte characters,’ is designed to accommodate a broad spectrum of characters used in different scripts. While UTF8MB4 extends support to up to 4-byte characters, UTF8MB3 provides a more limited but still comprehensive range. By embracing UTF8MB3, MailBluster ensures compatibility with diverse characters and symbols, empowering users to craft compelling content and communicate seamlessly with their global audience.
MailBluster no longer supports email attachments. We suggest uploading the file to a cloud storage service like Google Drive or Dropbox and then sharing the link in the body of the email campaign.
MailBluster does not have a customized white-labeled solution yet. However, our team has plans for releasing a White-label solution soon. It’s in MailBluster To-Do List.
Sending cold emails through MailBluster is against the terms of use of MailBluster. You cannot send unsolicited emails to a receiver without prior contact. That is, you are not allowed to send emails to those who are not your subscribers. This is according to the guidelines of AWS. You must have prior contact first and your leads has to be your subscribers. If you send cold emails, then AWS will pause / suspend your AWS account. It might also result in blocking your MailBluster and AWS account forever.
MailBluster prioritizes information security and is dedicated to preserving the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of its systems and information. The company has established a Vulnerability Disclosure Policy to guide security researchers in conducting vulnerability discovery activities. The policy outlines the systems and types of research covered, provides instructions for submitting vulnerability reports, and specifies a waiting period before publicly disclosing any discovered vulnerabilities.
While it’s not a Bug Bounty program, researchers can have their names listed on the Security Disclosure Acknowledgements page if the reported vulnerability is recognized.
